What can I say... I'm a small town girl!!

As graduation is getting closer and closer (eeeeekkk!!) I have come to the realization that I really am going to miss Holbrook! I know, I know if you would have asked me this six months ago I would have said, "Heck NO, I'm getting outta here!!" but lately I have been thinking about all of the things that I love about Holbrook, so here is my list:
1) I love how you know everyone and everyone knows you. We are a close community with so many people that truly care about the City of Holbrook. Not many places are like that!
2)Even though there is nothing to do here, it just forces us to be creative on how we can "hang out"! you cant play hide in seek in cars or get scared by a scary man sleeping in a van, in other towns.
3) The relationships that are built. We all know eachother since we were in Kindergarten. (well not me since I didn't get here til 3rd grade, but still....)
There are many things that I love about Holbrook, I have made so many amazing friends, created long-lasting memories and I am really gonna miss this place when I go to college... Holbrook is definetly one of  a kind and I am glad that I had the opportunity to grow up here!

Life is an ADVENTURE!!! So Live it!!!!

I know this is a little late, but a few weeks ago I had the opportunity to go to the Out of Africa park in Camp Verde, and let me just say, It was SO MUCH FUN!!! We were able to see Lions, Tigers and Bears (oh my!) up close and personal and it was amazing!! At two thirty the park was putting on an event called tiger splash, and this was where they would take two tigers into a caged arena, with a pool, and they would play with the tigers! It was so amazing, but all I could think about was that these people were in a cage with an animal that would love to eat them for lunch!! I thought they were crazy for doing it but, after they started going at it and playing with them I kinda wanted to join in! You could tell that the workers there had formed some kind of a relationship with the two tigers and that the tigers trusted them. Then I started to think aboutmy life... Have I really lived up to anything?? Is there anything that I can truly say made my life adventurous?? Sadly the answer is no, but I still have a lot of life ahead of me! There are going to be so many new adventures and challenges for me to face and I can either hop on for the ride or stand back and watch those memories and opportunities pass right on by me! So that weekend I made a decision! Life IS and Adventure, and I'm gonna start living it!! (although I can't say that I am going to be jumping in a cage full of lions any time soon!! :D )

STOP and THINK!!

How many times do you actually STOP at a stop sign? I know that I am guilty of slowing down just enough to make sure that the way is clear and then taking off to get where I am headed! But one day while I was taking a walk I saw a stop sign and decided that I needed to blog about it so here I am! Life goes by way too fast and I know in my life it seems like I am always going and going, not taking the time to actually stop and enjoy life! Stop signs are there for a reason! If we don't take the time to stop at a stop sign the results could be bad! We could get in an accident or hit someone! But I believe that similiar things could happen if we get too caught up in the hustle and bustle of life, we could end up hurting someone we love, or seriously damaging the way we are headed! Our paths are gonna change we will be headed one way and then have to take a detour, but no matter what way we take, the only important thing is that we get to where we are headed! With all the craziness that comes with being a senior I have spent the week actually taking a step back to stop and enjoy my life! I know that I was meant to be here this day, this hour, this minute! I am here for a reason but why not just stop and enjoy what God has given me??

Oh, the life of a kid!

This past weekend I was lucky enough to have my four little cousins come in and visit me! For the entire week before coming down I had heard about how excited my cousin Sarah was to come down and have it snow! They live in Mesa so they dont see a lot of snow! So they get down on saturday afternoon and to her dismay it doesnt snow... She goes to bed sad and disappointed about no snow. On sunday we wake up and the sky is all cloudy, I kept telling her, "Sarah, maybe today it will snow!" Finally after church while we are getting ready to eat dinner it starts to snow! Of course she is so excited she grabs her coat and shoes and heads outside to play in the snow! While I was watching her endure the cold, running around outside with her tongue sticking out trying to catch snowflakes on it all I could think about was when I used to do that! Then I started to think about why did I stop? Was it because it is too "childish" to run around outside in the freezing cold catching snowflakes on your tongue? Children are so adventurous and willing to do anything if they have their minds set! Where did my adventurous spirit go? My years of having fun and living in a spur of the moment, are almost to an end! I am almost ready to enter the adult world! So my advice to you is... next time it snows, run around outside with your tongue out trying to catch snowflakes!
